Moor Green Lakes Group Membership

The Moor Green Lakes Group (MGLG) was established in 1993 as an organisation to help manage the Moor Green Lakes Nature Reserve. MGLG relies on volunteers for its management and member subscriptions to fund day to day running costs. The main area of the Reserve is restricted access to avoid disturbance to wildlife and the only access is for surveys, conservation and maintenance work. You don't have to be a Member to visit the Reserve; the perimeter paths are public but, by joining, you contribute to the costs of running and improving the Reserve and get to discover more about what there is to see.

Benefits include

  • Enabling the MGLG to help nature across the Reserve.
  • Access to 2 secure viewing hides.
  • Priority invitation special events, nature observation sessions.
  • Notification when one of our thrice yearly newsletters is available.
  • Notification when our comprehensive annual report is available.
  • Opportunity to participate in our AGM.
  • Opportunity to work as a volunteer.

Joining Moor Green Lakes Group

Membership is just £10 per year for a household but additional contributions really help in the maintenance and upkeep of the Reserve.

In 2026 we have made two changes to how we administer membership.

Membership will now run for 1 year from the date we receive your payment. This seems a fairer way to handle memberships as many people join or renew throughout the year, not just at the start of our financial year.

We have now use a third-party tool called membermojo to help administer memberships. This allows you to review and amend your details (if you want to) by logging into membermojo (email address is needed). It will also send out automatic reminders when your membership is about to expire. Existing members have already been transferred to membermojo, but please note, if we don't have your correct email address we cannot communicate with you. Your details are handled in accordance to GDPR click here for more information.

Joining for the first time

Method A (preferred) using membermojo

You can join directly by filling out the form at membermojo (link below). The minimum information we need is your name, postcode, and email address. You can add an household member with their own email address, particularly useful if you both want to volunteer. You will receive details on how to pay once you have filled out the form. Please consider setting up a yearly standing order, so that your membership will automatically renew and we would greatly appreciate any additional donation you can add.

Method B direct email

Set up a standing order or make an electronic transfer to

We will then setup your details in Membermojo and you should then receive a welcome pack as if you had registered yourself.

Method C postal with a cheque

This method is slow, but send your details with a cheque made payable as above in method B above to

MGLG
